In case you have forgotten, this blog is about talking about funny parenting stuff and somehow talking about myself while trying to do movie and book reviews. It’s been a while since I have reviewed a book or movie. You know how I know that?
Because I was sent a reminder from the people that send me free movies and books to tell me to get my “crap together.”
Okay, I made that up.
It was just a nice gentle, “Have you had a chance to review, (insert following movie)? Please send us a link when you are finished, because we would love to hear what you think of (insert following book).
Listen, I have been busy watching Parenthood. Which is really the best show on t.v right now. But, I am sort of sick of crying every bloody episode. See, I have been busy. So everyone can just back off for a few minutes.
Okay?
Now back to business…
Super Zed has struck again, he bought me this book for Christmas….
And I devoured it ALL on Christmas Day. I know, I should have been cooking a damn turkey or helping my kids put together their lego. And I did do all those things, I swear, just really half assed.
I love comedians. I also love female comedy writers and actors. I find them very relatable to my life. And usually I love the snarky books and people like, Chelsea Handler, Sarah Silverman, and The Bloggess. So, I do have to admit that I was actually surprised I enjoyed sweet little Mindy Kaling.
The girl is a hilarious little doll. She is the girl that becomes your best friend and writes you back after summer camp. If you like nice, contemporary and honest humour, then I would click on the link above and buy the damn book.
And if you don’t know how to read,
Just a minute… BAHAHAAHA! If you don’t know how to read?! I am so funny. Get it? You wouldn’t be reading this if you don’t know how to read. HAHAHAHAHA. Damn I am funny.
Wait, not being able to read is NOT funny. I mean that I really do. If you can’t read then you should read about this program Frontier College, I mean, get someone to read it to you. Crap I did it again.
Okay. If you don’t like to read but would rather watch the adorable Mindy Kaling, who was one of the first writers on The Office, you can watch her show The Mindy Project. I love it so much that I force Zed to watch it all the time.
Here’s a snippet…
I love Mindy Kaling. I’ve been meaning to buy that book. So thank you.
I actually told Zed I wanted if for Christmas, 2 days before Christmas. He had already ordered it weeks ago.
have you read Bossy Pants by Tins Fey? if so can you offer a comparison?
Yes, I have and I have done a review here..

I love her I can’t wait to see her show and I had no idea she had a book!! I will for sure have to download it!
I am obsessed with the theme song on her show. De,de,de,de,de,de,de,de,de,de.
that sounds good I haven’t heard of it before

Ok first, I love Parenthood. It just sucks me in and spits me out.
And I loved Mindy on the Office. I have to admit I’ve only watched her new show once but not because I don’t like it, I just don’t watch much TV. I didn’t know she had a book out. Maybe one day I’ll find some time to read again!
Its worth the download!
I love her. Every episode of Mindy makes me snort-laugh. Which is apparently a sign of aging. Not that I like Mindy, but, the snort thing. Nevermind.
I snort laugh all the time, WTF, its a sign of aging? FREAKING OUT.
I think if you always snort laughed, you’re fine. However, if you used to mock your mother for her snort laughing relentlessly when you were an obnoxious teenager, because you of course had a laugh like wind chimes stirred by a gentle breeze – then it’s a sign of aging.
Someone just recommended parenthood to me the other day, I really should check it out.
This looks a great read – perfect to take on a vacation to relax on the beach with
Parenthood is the best thing on network t.v.
Eeeeeeee! I love Mindy! I’m confident we could be best friends. Well, along with you. Obviously.
They make those BFF necklaces with 3 hearts! SQUUUEE. I will order now. Think Mindy would mind?
This must be a really good book in order to have read it in it’s entirety on Christmas Day! Sounds like a great read – thank you for sharing this.
I haven’t done that since I got “My Girl” when I was 14.
Oh I’ve been looking for a new book! I will have to check this one out as I love supporting funny ladies!
Cheers,
Kendall

Moi aussi.
p.s I am very sophisticated.
I really enjoyed this book, and am loving The Mindy Project. My husband thinks the show is dumb, but he doesn’t laugh at my blog, so he obviously doesn’t know funny. I make him watch Mindy with me anyway, just like I make him read my words. 🙂

I love Mindy too. She was great on the office and am enjoying her new show. I must try and make time in my busy tv schedule to read her book.
I loved her book, loved her in the office, think her new show is MEH.
