T-fal ActiFry…

You guys are going to freak out. Like seriously FAH-REAK out!Remember when I was going bananas trying to find out if T-fal ActiFry’s actually worked?

I mean, it makes food crispy with like a couple tablespoons of oil and air.

How can this thing actually work?

Well, they do. Like a hot damn.

Obviously, the first thing I needed to try in it was Chicken Wings!

Now, this is where I have to admit that I got so excited to use my T-fal ActiFry that I forgot to tip the wings.

I know.

Amateur move.

So after putting them in for 35 minutes, this is what I got…

And then I had to cook frozen french fries.

This is Zed in an absolute state of confusion.

We were both blown away.

And then I had to make potato chips.

potato chips!

Since I have been taking care of myself and joined Weight Watchers, I have missed them so much.

Need I explain more?

Potato Chips

Want the recipe?

Cut potatoes very thinly.

Pat to take out excess moisture.

Throw in T-fal ActiFry for 45 minutes.

Add tbsp of olive oil.

Go watch Party of Five for 45 minutes.

Salt those bad boys.

And once I started using this invention sent from the Gods, I couldn’t stop.

But, I will tell you what doesn’t work…..

Frozen fish sticks.

Frozen Fish

Yup, that’s the batter floating around. The reason it doesn’t work is because the heating process involves the food actually rotating and moving around the T-fal ActiFry. So, it almost peels off that coating.  But, it didn’t really do it with the flour and egg coating on the chicken wings. I just cannot believe that it fried up food without a ton of oil and without my house stinking up for days. One thing you will notice is that it does create a bit of heat.  But, my body did not get burned or splattered with oil, so I will take the heat over that any day. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN IF YOU TAKE THE MIDDLE PART OUT THAT TURNS OUT! DO THAT.

Now be easy on me.

I really wanted to show you the video of how the T-fal ActiFry works and sounds, but I couldn’t figure out how to “turn” the video.  I am sure someone super smart will watch this and then let me know, but until then….

FYI: There are 2 videos that will play. Watch them both. It’s amazing!

Thanks so much for T-fal ActiFry for sending me this Family Size appliance to try out. It’s awesome and I plan on taking it with me on our summer holidays. My husband will not be happy about packing it, but Mom will fall in love with it, so it will be worth taking it on a 13 hour drive.  PLEASE NOTE: I am an Amazon Associate and there are affiliate links in this post.

  1. I am loving the fact that it uses so little oil. I don’t think it could do deep fried ice cream though! Hahaha. I would love this for fries and chips, it seems so easy.

  2. A bunch of the moms at school have been raving about this. They say it makes the best fries ever. I’m impressed with your chips AND those wings. I didn’t think the wings would turn out as good as they did. Lucky you!

  3. I have a basket that I bought at Canadian Tire for the Actifry and it does all your breaded foods, and holy moly does it work wonders, the food actually comes out so crispy, in fact a whole lot better than deep frying and not grease or oil, such a bonus, and I even did fish sticks for my granddaughter and they were the best dang cheap fish sticks I ever ate!!

  4. I can’t get the chips to work, they s processtick together when it turns around, a video guide would be nice of the hole process?

    1. If you soak your potato slices in salted water it removes the sticky starches so they don’t stick and get crispier. Just be sure to pay very dry before frying

  5. potaties up potatoes, carrots and onions with chicken, added my favorite roasting herbs and spices and let it go. Good stuff. Also good for sausages, sliced with Peppers and onions.

    1. I removed it and made battered / coated chicken legs . just turn over and brush a liberal amount of melted butter on after 15 min. Then turn over the lives and let it go for another 15 to 25 min. They came out great ! I have the original model. My next one will be a larger one ! .

  6. I bought an Actifry 2 weeks ago and haven’t used it yet. I am very disappointed in the book that came with it. It is so tiny that I can’t read it. I have looked everywhere for a cook book that I can read but can’t find one anywhere. If I hadn’t destroyed the box I would take it back but hopefully I will get a good magnifying glass to help with this. It is a real disappointment.
