Baby Bot is 19 months. I can’t believe it.
Mostly, I can’t believe we have him.
Because I forget about him all the time.
Everything is about 4 year old Whirlwind. She just demands so much attention and Baby Bot just follows happily along.
Well, he used to.
He’s starting to give us “hell.”
He waves his little finger and yells, “BACK!” at Whirlwind if she takes one of his toys.
And when he gets something into that little head of his… Watch Out!
He loves looking at our DVD’s and he has names for the ones he likes.
Examples:
Mowsee: Stuart Little (Full Screen)
Beah: Big Book of The Berenstain Bears
Beeeee: Baby Einstein
Melmo: Sesame Beginnings
I bought this for Whirlwind when she was a baby. She liked it for the most part, but used to get totally freaked out by Prairie Dawn’s Mom. Which is super weird. She was fine with Cookie Monsters Grandma and Big Birds Giant Mom, but the Muppet that most looks like her own Mother would make her cry.
What the hell?
UGH. See, how easily that happened. I was talking about Baby Bot and just like that I am talking about Whirlwind.
Back to Baby Bot….
So, the “Melmo” DVD is a big favourite of Baby Bot’s. The first 3 minutes of the DVD is a Doctor telling me how I should watch the DVD and interact with my child for them to get the most out of the DVD. Blah, Blah, Blah.
And like I good Mommy, I do as I am told.
I got off the computer.
I sat down beside Baby Bot
And I started to sing along.
Bad Idea.
His little finger starts waving at me and he’s yelling, “No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No.”
And because I cannot take no for an answer. I try again.
He gets up, leaves me on the couch alone and stands in front of the television to watch his show without being disturbed.
Sort of like when I turn up the volume while watching, “Keeping Up with The Kardashian’s.” while my husband tries to tell me about his day.
Um.. hello? Khloe is only visiting for this episode and her Mom is being a total cow.
So, excuse me Zed but, “No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No.”
And everything my Mother told me is true. What goes around comes around. I am royally fucked.
p.s Baby Bot just watched “Melmo” 2x during the making of this blog.
